This manual provides an overview of all functions of pcn.cockpit®. It is a web-based PCN management tool and is primarily intended for PCN managers.
The sequence is basically kept as you find and process Product Change Notifications (PCN) for your parts.
At the end of the manual, further functions for creating a smartPCN, for searching, for reporting (status) and further notes on table functions such as sorting and filtering are shown.
In PCN Management there are three major process steps (1 - 3):
These large processes are edited in pcn.cockpit® via the menu:
Matches:
Determining matching part numbers (from your parts list to the part numbers from each PCN) and thus finding the relevant PCN. This is ensured by a sophisticated algorithm overnight (by request also by a manual trigger). Here we speak of MATCHING.
Analysis:
Establish a reference between a PCN and its internal part numbers, assemblies to the final product. This is where we talk about MAPPING. Via the so-called LINKING you recognize with one click the parts, assemblies affected by a PCN up to the final product.
My tasks:
Define and process workflows and tasks to analyze the impact of a PCN and to take action to address the impact of a PCN. Here we talk about the analysis tasks and the action tasks.
